You know what? I'm going to ARGFest and probably ComiCon, too. Don't care. I'm going. I may have to drive and stay in campsites along the way, and I may have to eat Ramen noodles in my hotel room, but dammit, I will be there.

I was just reading the ARGFest'O'Con thread tonight - lately I haven't had any time to play or hang out on unFiction, and I had been thinking that maybe ARGFest would be one of the activities I could skip this year, but you know what? I don't want to skip it, and I'm not going to. I've missed ARGs and the discussions surrounding ARGs, and all that. I'll find some other way to save money. ARGy people make me happy, and this is going to be the Happiest Summer EVAR, as far as I'm concerned.

So there. :P

Also, I swear this guy falls into the category of "Oh, you could bitch about anything." It irks me every time I see one of his posts - he's always bitching and moaning about something - earlier in the thread, it's "Woe is him, ARGFest isn't in Miami, waaaah!" and now it's "Woe is him, there are no nonstop flights from Miami to Portland, waaaah!" Whatevs, dude. He's like nails on a freakin' chalkboard.

Someone posted a link to a fabulous video in response to the whining: "We live in an amazing, amazing world, and it's wasted on the crappiest generation of spoiled idiots." I'm taking that to heart - and I'll remember it the next time I go bitching about the speed of my internet, or something trivial. Most of the time, I'm wonderstruck by the world as it is now - sometimes it's annoying, but part of it is always amazing. (And some of it really, really sucks - poverty, war, all of that - an amazing world, and yet... that's a post for another time...) But seriously, as I posted in response to the guy's earlier whinings - if you want to do a thing, do it, don't sit around and whine about why you can't go or can't do or about what won't work or whatever. And no, ARGFest isn't going to Miami just because you want it to. *eyeroll*

In other news, we went to see "Watchmen" this afternoon, and I enjoyed it. Tiny Spoiler )

I still haven't seen Coraline - I might drag David to a matinee for that tomorrow.
